Mindful Solutions for Your Life's Challenges

For many people, life can feel like a crisis in motion.

No matter who we are or what we do, we’re often left with second thoughts, regrets, and worries.  Our personal journey is likely to include times of suffering, due to the many complexities of the world we live in. The good news is there’s help.

Counseling can help you navigate your way and put you in touch with the clarity you need to make decisions that are in alignment with your values and goals, with who you really are and who you were meant to be.

At Beth Spring Therapy, we help you take inventory of your life and relationships, redefine your goals, and provide you the guidance you need in moving forward to achieve them.

What IS mindfulness?   What does that mean?

It's pretty simple, really.  Mindfulness is a particular way of paying attention: on purpose, in the present moment, and with compassion.  It is an intentional shift from living your life on auto-pilot, to being consciously aware of what is happening in your life here and now and how you are reacting to it.  But that simplicity can have life-changing effects.

Cultivating a mindful approach to ourselves, our relationships, and life in general helps keep us aware of when we are becoming stressed or reactive.  It’s been shown, in clinical trials at medical centers nationwide, to reduce chronic pain as well as the distress of anxious and depressed moods.

Author Mark Twain captured the essence of mindfulness long ago, when he said, “Life does not consist mainly of facts and happenings; it consists mainly of the storm of thoughts that is forever blowing through one’s head.”

Mindfulness offers a way of relating differently to the storm of thoughts and feelings all of us have, so we can reduce stress and remain aware of all our options.

"Therapy often starts with a cry of the heart.  You are suffering, in despair, and feeling as if nothing will ever change.  Restoring your hope and recovering your courage is a foundation of therapy. People do change, and as your therapist, I hold onto hope even when it seems you cannot.

"The hope I have for you is grounded in 20 years of experience in working with couples and individuals just like you.  As I see my clients make progress and improve their lives, I am reminded over and over that all of us have untapped capacities for creativity and healing.

"If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals."

What Others Are Saying:

"We are able to communicate so much better and our relationship is improving every day.  We appreciate everything that Beth has done for us.  We went through a huge crisis in our marriage, and she helped us put it back together.  It was hard work, but so worth it.

“It's been said that 'A woman is like a tea bag – you never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.'  Well Beth helped me find out I’m an Earl Grey!  I can't thank her enough for all she did for me."

"Mindfulness, cultivated for even a few minutes, draws the heart toward itself.  The practice of mindfulness immediately makes available to us both the world's and our heart's intrinsic goodness and beauty."
